The Arte Capoeira Center was inaugurated in Sept. 2003 and has established itself as NYC's premier capoeira school. Centrally located in midtown Manhattan, the ACC offers daily capoeira classes for all levels students from beginner to advanced. It also features weekly samba and kids classes. The ACC offers a safe, accessible space for all to participate in meaningful activities that engage body, heart, and mind.

We belong to the ABADÁ-Capoeira group, which counts more than 40,000 members in 4 continents, and we train capoeira regional style. Our teachers at the ACC are qualified, not only through many years of training, but also by special workshops that keep their skills and techniques up to date. Instrutor Mucuiú and his senior students use the instruction and performance of capoeira to transcend socio-economic barriers between communities and to encourage community empowerment.

The ACC also serves as a valuable cultural resource. It hosts cultural events related to Brazilian culture and capoeira, like film screenings, art exhibitions and parties. During the years, the performing group of the Arte Capoeira Center has participated to several community and corporate events in the New York City area bringing this lively and enriching performance to a wide variety of audiences.

The last Saturday of each month, Instrutor Mucuiú and his students hold their open roda, where students from all groups are welcome to join and measure up their skills.
