Beginners Capoeira Foundations & Form This class focuses on basic techniques and skills. It is aimed at increasing coordination, flexibility and strength. It is conducted at a lower pace to allow the students to learn and refine the movements. All new students should join the beginners class at first. Intermediate and advance students often attend this class to work on their form and techniques. First time students should wear loose comfortable clothing and be prepared to train hard!
Intermediate/Advanced Class This class is open only to existing ABADÁ-Capoeira students. Students attending this class should have strong foundation of the basic movements.
**Monday & Wednesday classes limited to Corda Amarelo-Laranja & up ONLY
All Level Mixed level class. Beginners can attend this class once they have learned some basic movements of defense/attack and in-betweens. The class is conducted according to the level of of the students attending, i.e.: if more advanced/intermediate students are attending it will be a faster paced. The class is usually split in two groups so the students can receive the training appropriate to their level.
Special Training This class will vary each week from floreios, music, technique, takedowns, etc. Requests are also encouraged. This class is included in the monthly fee or is $15 for the individual class.

Music The ACC's Music Class will help capoeiristas develop proficiency in all aspects of capoeira music. It focuses on skill development with the berimbau (gunga, medio and viola), the atabaque, the pandeiro and the agogo. The class will also emphasize singing, both technique and rhythm as well as learning ABADÁ-Capoeira songs. Brazilian musicians from different backgrounds will join the class to explore the rich Brazilian musical culture and its connections with capoeira. See our events page for upcoming guests.
*NEW* Carioca Booty Workout©
The Arte Capoeira Center has introduced Carioca Booty Workout, a new fitness class to its schedule. Specially developed by ACC fitness professionals, it is inspired to the daily exercise routine of the women of Rio de Janeiro who are famous for their stunning beach bodies. Exercises focus on: glutei, abdominals and
legs. It will be a very intense workout of 30-45 min, available at
lunchtime and early evening.
